Remember: He WANTS your fellowship, and He has done everything possible to make it a reality. He has forgiven your sins, at the cost of His own dear Son. He has given you His Word, and the priceless privilege of prayer and worship. - Billy Graham

Praise be to God the Father and to His Son Jesus Christ.

TIME

He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart… Ecclesiastes 3:11a

“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:31-34

A few months ago, I saw the back and inside of an antique clock. The mechanism that enabled the clock to keep time was so intricate and ingenious. The moving parts each synchronized with the others, working together to keep time. Throughout history, we have continually made instruments with varying and greater complexity to keep time and keep us aware of the time. Today, we use complex electronic devices that fit in our hands to keep and tell us the time, meaning our phones. Yes, we have come a long way in our technology and instrumentation which allows us to know the time of day. We try to use our time, manage our time, schedule our time, and make the most of our time. Time moves quickly. Seasons change, years move forward, and life is measured and used day by day. We each get 24 hours. We do not get more, and we do not get less. Yes, we do different things with the time. We sleep, eat, go to school, work, spend time with family, or work on hobbies. Yet, it still remains true. We each are given 24 hours a day. So, how do we use our time most effectively, wisely?

Let me give you a simple answer. Pursue Jesus. Seek to know Jesus. Know and do His Word. Pray and follow His leading through His Word for the day. Let Jesus direct your steps. When you work, live, move, and do anything, make it your heart’s desire to love Him, to worship Him, and to serve Him. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Mark 12:30; John 4:23). Jesus will lead you to rest and run, not at the world’s pace, but at the pace that God has set for our lives. He will lead us to use our minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years, to make an eternal difference. Jesus can do much more with my time, when it is in His hands, than when I try to manage my time and make it work, using my own feeble human hands. He does the eternal and enables us to not become distracted and disheartened by the temporary. Time is always well spent, when it is spent with Jesus and He is Lord of our time.

Blessings!
